UMIT has been approved by the apex bodies like the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE and the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). It envisages an educational complex with state of the art laboratories, workshops and computer centre equipped with the latest equipment. It also envisions close liaison with the Industry and handling live Industry Projects as part of the curriculum. The curriculum has been designed to embrace modern developments in the field of technology to equip the students to face the challenges of the Industry. The courses concentrate on the emerging fields of technology and are periodically updated in the light of the changes that are visualized to take place in the field of technology the world over. The Institute has academic tie-ups with renowned technological institutes and research laboratories in the country.

I am delighted to welcome you to the SNDT Women University conducted Institution-Usha Mittal Institute of Technology (UMIT), Mumbai. Quality assurance is the prime focus of the UMIT. Six undergraduate programs viz. Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Data Science and the Artificial Intelligence are approved by the AICTE, New Delhi. Postgraduate programs in Computer Science & Technology and Electronics & Communication Engineering are also approved by the AICTE, New Delhi. There are PhD research centres in Computer Science & Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Infrastructure System Engineering.
This engineering college has a rich legacy of excellence, innovation and social responsibility. UMIT has a team of dedicated, qualified and experienced faculty members, who are committed for imparting knowledge, skills and values to our students. In line with the guidelines issued in the National Education Policy, the UMIT has decided to modify the structure and the syllabus of both under-graduate and post-graduate programs. Infrastructural facilities shall also be developed gradually to cope up with all the requirements.

Pre-competition Tutorial on Geoinformatics
Usha Mittal Institute of Technology will be organizing one day workshop on Geoformatics as a Netra’20 Pre-competition event, in association with IEEE-GRSS Bombay Section Chapter.
A GRSS chapter is a group within IEEE Sections with a formal GRSS association. Chapters are the local link to the valuable resources available from IEEE and the 38 IEEE Technical Societies. Their activities may include guest speakers, workshops, and seminars as well as social functions. Chapters provide Society members with valuable opportunities to network at a local level, enabling their personal and professional growth.
