Leelabai Thackersey College of Nursing, established in 1952, is a prestigious constituent college of SNDT Women’s University. Over the past seven decades, the college has made significant contributions to the field of nursing globally, transforming novices into highly competent nursing professionals equipped to meet the challenges of the contemporary healthcare system. Guided by the motto “Service through Excellence,” the college offers a comprehensive range of programs, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Nursing, making it the first institution in Maharashtra to offer such a diverse array of nursing education.

Admissions to the college are based on entrance examinations. The college admits 50 students for the undergraduate program and 15 students for the M.Sc. Nursing program, all selected through these rigorous entrance exams held in month of May and June.

To ensure that students develop proficiency in clinical procedures and patient care, they are posted in a variety of leading municipal, government, semi-government, and private hospitals. This provides them with valuable hands-on experience under the direct supervision of experienced faculty. Additionally, for community health nursing experience, students are posted in the Sion-Dharavi area, further enhancing their practical knowledge and understanding of diverse healthcare settings.
