Department of Education, Churchgate

Department of Education was established in 1971 at Churchgate campus of the University. Department offers M.Ed., M.A. (Education) and Ph.D. programmes. Department has qualified, enthusiastic, competent and committed faculty members. Department is committed to offer quality education. “Quality in every Activity” is motto of the Department.

Seminars and workshops are organized at the department level from time to time. Access to Online databases of thousands of journals and theses is provided to all the students. The faculty members put in lot of efforts to make learning enjoyable and meaningful. Various methods such as project work, field visits, case study, problem – based Learning (PBL), seminar, blended learning, experiential learning besides discussions and other cooperative learning methods are used for strengthening learning. Project–based assignments are planned to enhance creativity of students. Seminars, case studies, role play and other cooperative learning techniques develop the students’ skills to co-create knowledge. The group work enhances listening skills, interpersonal skills, decision making skills of the students and ability for team work which is the most essential requirement not only of the world of work but also of a democratic society.
