The SNDT Women’s University is the first Women’s University in India and South East Asia established in 1916 by Bharatratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve. At present University has six campuses at Pune, Churchgate, Juhu, Shriwardhan, Palghar and Ballarpur, 38 University Departments, 14 constituent colleges and 250+ affiliated colleges engaged in teaching and research activities.
The Department of Economics was established at Pune Campus in the year 1986 and it offers a two years on-campus Master’s Degree Programme in Economics with 16 optional subjects. The medium of instruction for Masters programme is Marathi. The Department also offers Ph. D. Programme in Economics in Marathi and English medium. With an internationally recognized Master’s degree, our students are employable in various sectors.
