The P.G. Department of Computer Science has continually worked towards imparting holistic, empowering education that would promote excellent vertical progression as per the legacy of the department. This has been enabled, to a large extent, by the grant received from RUSA. Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)is a holistic scheme of development of higher studies in India.
Our department received grant of Rs. 55 Lacs for the development of Research Laboratory which is funded in the year 2016. The financial assistance received from RUSA, helped the department in its vision of making higher education not only accessible to more students but also to make it holistic.
The department has successfully utilised the grant for the procurement of new equipments like desktop computers, laptops, printer, scanner, UPS, UPS Batteries, wireless mouse, Wi-Fi router, Pendrive.
Part of the RUSA grant has helped our department to purchase high end softwares like ARCGIS and ERDAS, MATLAB Individual License, ORACLE, Microsoft Office 2016, E-Scan Antivirus which are not freely available. These various softwares are used by research scholars for various thrust areas like geographical information system, Geospatial Technology etc. MCA/PGDCS/MSc-CS students also sharing these softwares for their project and laboratory work.
To our immense pride and joy, we have observed that in the past couple of years, after the RUSA grant, our research students as well as post graduate students are able to work more efficiently and fast because of the upgraded machines.
To sum up, the RUSA grant enabled the department to move closer towards its vision of providing quality education to all which is so evident in the feedback received from our students.
Thus the RUSA grants are offering multiple benefits to both the teachers and the students of this department. The department is grateful for the financial assistance offered by RUSA and commends its vision of improving the overall quality of educational institutions and introducing transformative reforms in the higher education system.
